AFORD focuses on addressing environmental and climate-related problems in Africa. They recognize the connection between environmental damage and basic rights and back sustainable strategies that protect both ecosystems and vulnerable populations. AFORD strongly advocates for those who are marginalized and lobbies for changes in policies at local, national, and international levels because Africa is particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change, which include extreme weather, food shortages, and displacement. AFORD works to build resilience, promote environmental preservation, and empower people to deal with climate change effectively through research, activism, and mobilizing the community.
